Dr Peter Whitlam and Helen Read - our acting project managers |
Dr Peter Whitlam is a consultant psychologist, who took early retirement and found himself working "part time - only six days a week" for Rethink! He has also suffered from mental ill health himself so is well-placed to empathise - which is the campaign theme.
So far he's managed to persuade the University of East Anglia to help with some of the research needed for the campaign, to involve students as one of its target groups and to ensure every member of staff is trained in anti-stigma.
He's also talked to Norwich City College about putting projects to do with stigma on the curriculum and had discussions with Norfolk County Council and Norwich City Council.
Helen Read's background is in working with the Third Sector in Norfolk and she is looking at ideas for high impact campaign events. This will include looking at the many ideas produced by delegates at the March 31 Empathy Conference.

Helen will also be looking for ways to attract more funding for the campaign and for ways to engage the public, particularly fun ways of providing positive contact between them and people with mental health problems.
